For more information contact us through the link. Who Are We Riverlink is a short life, self help housing co-op based in North and East London. We are maintained and administrated entirely by our members on a voluntary basis. You don't have to be a plumber or a builder to join the Co-op as we recognise that everyone has different skills which can be utilised to help. Currently the membership includes such diverse skills as regional director of BME organization, a Makeup Artist and a rock star!! One of the skills you will need is adaptability. Because we are committed to maintaining our properties and making them nice to live in, we operate a system of skill sharing whereby members pass on there knowledge to other members. Through this system you may find yourself learning how to put up shelves, build a wall, apply for a housing grant or make a good curry!! Another quality that is vital to Co-op living is a commitment to help with the running of the Co-op, be it with practical skill such as maintenance or administration, or even just attending meetings and contributing to the decision making process. Without this commitment the Co-op ceases to exist. Where did we come from? We started as a splinter group from a larger Coop and have now been running for around 20 years. We manage approximately 31 properties, which provide accomodation for single, independent people on a shared house basis. Our members are referred to us by various referral agencies. These referral agencies vary from local authorities to more specialist housing groups. A list of these can be found by clicking on the links button on the left. Unfortunately we cannot offer accomodation to families and children as the houses we use are often in need of repair and unsuitable for family living Equal opportunities is very important to Riverlink as an organisation, in which no member is more powerful or more important than any other. We are commited to providing housing to single homeless people, regardless of colour, ethnic origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disabilty or any other discriminatory criterion.
